So I guess the cold water from the sink in the kitchen does not pass through the water softener. Water filters, just to teach us to use cold water. So it is safe to use water (not softened the cold kitchen sink) with water filters?

We do it every day. They were PUR filter for a few years. Significantly cheaper than buying bottled water.
